If you have a friend who is constantly chasing that Vintage Hollywood aesthetic—think red leather booths, moody lighting, and timeless jazz vibes—then Drake’s Hollywood on Lovers Lane in Dallas is your next mandatory stop. I recently celebrated my friend's birthday here and it was an incredible evening of great-tasting cocktails, and sweet and savory bites. (see Instagram video here).
Operated by Vandelay Hospitality Group, who also manages Hudson House, Bar Sardine, Jack & Harry's, East Hampton Sandwich Co., etc., (all of which I have visited!) you know concept is going to be beautiful and distinct.

The Atmosphere - Classic Cinema in North Texas
From the moment you walk past the velvet curtains, the "Classic Hollywood" feel settles in. The bar is an it's own artwork, and the circular booths are designed for toasts! Whether you’re a local or just visiting Dallas for the first time, this backdrop is an instant photo opportunity.
The Sips - Elevated Classics
The cocktails at Drake's is as sophisticated as the decor. If you're looking for a signature drink to start the night, here are the standouts:
The Mexican: A refined blend of tequila and fresh lime, topped with a unique Limoncello foam (the best margarita I've ever had)!
Spicy Mexican: For those who like a kick, the cucumber and jalapeño salt provide the perfect balance.
Spanish Espresso: A decadent twist on the classic espresso martini using Licor 43 and almond espresso.
Bleu & Gold: A martini featuring house-made bleu cheese olives and a savory bleu cheese salt rim.

The Bites - Homestyle Dishes with a Gourmet Twist
The menu at Drake’s takes American "comfort food" and elevates it. Here's what hit the table.
Vin Scully Fries: Topped with smoked cheddar and bacon...an indulgent start!
Ozzy’s Pizza: This shareable dish features filet mignon, onion truffle oil, and a balsamic glaze. It’s rich, savory, and perfectly thin-crust, so you won't feel overstuffed!
Lobster Mac & Cheese: Truly, enough said. It is decadent and packed with fresh lobster.
24-Layer Strawberry Cake: We ended the night with this iconic dessert. It’s impressively tall but managed to be sweet without being overwhelming. I mean, 24 layers?! Among the four of us, we couldn't even finish it.
Plan Your Visit
If you want to take the guesswork out of your next Dallas "girls' night" or birthday celebration, put this at the top of your list.
